Year 6 Ancient Greek Day

On Friday 24^th November, Year 6 participated in Ancient Greek Day, linked to our history learning on the Ancient Greeks.

Year 6 had a fun-filled day, which started with some theatre based on the Greek Gods, some children even took part and helped tell the story. For the rest of the morning, we completed an Ancient Greek puzzle, learnt how to play an Ancient Greek board game and put our knowledge to the test in a quiz.

In the afternoon, children were greeted by a hoplite soldier, who taught them all about Ancient Greek weaponry and battle tactics. They participated in democracy by presenting policies they would put in place if they were in charge of the school and then voting for a leader. We ended the day with a mini Olympic games, in which Sparta were victorious.
