Year 6 Heart Dissection

1st January 2025

Today in Year 6, the children had an amazing opportunity to take part in a heart dissection. Led by Mrs Walker, the children had the chance to handle a lamb's heart and then watch as it was cut open to reveal the different components. The children were able to find the atriums and ventricles as well as feel the valves. Most of the children enjoyed handling the heart and exploring the different parts. They had so many questions that we were able to answer and really developed their scientific understanding. This lesson was described as 'the best science lesson we've had!'
